AFU repel 27 attacks on Avdiyivka Axis, 17 on Bakhmut Axis, and 16 on Kupiyansk Axis – General Staff
This follows from a statement by the General Staff of the AFU posted on its Facebook page, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Over the past 24 hours, the enemy launched one missile- and 47 airstrikes and fired 97 rockets at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas using MLRSes.
As a result of russian terrorist attacks, there are wounded among the civilian population.
During the day, 84 combat clashes took place at the front.
On the Kupiyansk Axis, defenders of Ukraine repelled 16 attacks in the areas of Synkivka, Pishchane, and Berestove settlements of the Kharkiv Region and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk Region.
On the Lyman Axis, the Defense Forces repelled three enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Nevske in the Luhansk Region and Terny in the Donetsk Region.
On the Bakhmut Axis, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 17 enemy attacks in the areas of Verkhniokamiyanske, Vyimka, Spirne, Rozdolivka, Ivanivske, Novyi, and Andriyivka settlements in the Donetsk Region.
On the Avdiyivka Axis, Ukrainian defenders repelled 27 attacks by the occupiers in the areas of Oleksandropil, Novooleksandrivka, Prohres, Yevhenivka, Novoselivka Persha, Umanske, and Netayilove settlements in the Donetsk Region.
On the Novopavlivsk Axis, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka, Vodiane, and Urozhaine settlements in the Donetsk Region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried 11 times to break through the defense of our troops.
On the Orikhiv Axis, the enemy attacked AFU positions six times near Staromayorske in the Donetsk Region, Robotyne, and northwest of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia Region.
On the Kherson Axis, the enemy does not give up its intention to knock out the Ukrainian units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnieper River. During the past day, he carried out three unsuccessful attacks on the positions of our troops.
During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces and units of the missile forces struck the 2C4 Tulip self-propelled mortar, the command post, one PMM warehouse, and five enemy personnel concentration areas.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on May 6, a total of 97 combat clashes took place at the front. The AFU repelled most of the enemy attacks on the Avdiyivka (31) and Bakhmut (17) Axes.
